We the People take back America because the voter decides!
Glib slogans are really more than that: they are a mandate for concerned citizens. If our democracy is to survive, and to thrive once again, it is time for every voter to overcome their feelings of alienation and being overwhelmed by their government. Every voter has at least one issue in their lives that is directly impacted by a vote. If each of us would choose just one issue, and commit to just one volunteer activity to affect the outcome of that vote, the improvement to revitalize and breathe new life into our democracy would be astounding!
No one expects any single one of us to “save the world,” but if each of us does our part, we can be truly informed and together we can indeed have an impact on the policies of our government. The feedback of hundreds of thousands of voters sent to Capital Hill during the Wall Street meltdown is a recent example!
And there is still one thing that cannot be bought unless it is sold: our vote! Contributions of millions of dollars by corporate America and lobbyists must be exchanged for (much!) smaller contributions from many more involved Americans.
PrimaryVoices is a vehicle designed to promote discussion among voters of the major issues challenging our nation. It is designed for respectful voters from every corner of the voting spectrum: no matter what party, no matter what gender, no matter what age, no matter what income, no matter what personal philosophy!
